Our Mission Statement

While the St. Paul Lutheran School Scholarship Granting Organization was founded in 2024, the heart of our mission in this community has existed for much longer. Leavenworth is a city with a long and rich history, full of people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, and economic status. Having lived in Leavenworth for much of our lives, it is our hearts’ desire to minister to families in our community. 

Every child deserves to be seen and educated as a whole person, with learning tailored to their individual needs. The choice between public, private, parochial, or homeschool is individual to each student. We believe that a Lutheran Education can meet each student where they are, and provide them a solid foundation built around Christ. It is the goal of the St. Paul Lutheran School Foundation to make this accessible to all students, regardless of their background or economic status. 

A Scholarship Granting Organization utilizes donations from individuals and corporations who share a common goal to grant scholarships to students. These donors receive a tax credit (not refund) of up to 75% of their donation. The Kansas Department of Revenue has allotted a fixed amount in its annual budget to this end. It is not a voucher, nor does it take away funding from public schools. This tax credit allows individuals an incentive to donate and make alternative school options financially accessible to all students. For more information, see our FAQ Page. 

All children are a blessing from God, and it is our responsibility to nurture them and provide them a strong foundation anchored in faith. Family values, church, school, and ministry are among the stones used for this foundation. It is the mission of the St. Paul Lutheran School Foundation to ensure that finances are not a barrier to a Lutheran education, should their family desire it for them.
